Take the bow of the Upanishads and place in it an arrow sharp with devotion. Draw the bow with concentration on him and hit the center of the mark, the same everlasting Spirit. The bow is the sacred OM, and the arrow is our soul. Brahman is the mark of the arrow, the aim is the soul. Even as the arrow becomes one with its mark, let the watchful soul be one in him.
Honoring ones own divinity and connection to the Sacred.
Dream like version of Upward Bow, insinuates elevated openness in crystal clarity. As the sun shines through the rain, illuminating all of Spirit's hues, our colors (chakras) also radiate as we work through our own gray challenges.
Universal Symbol of spiritual power and illumination. The balance of being of the Earth but not in it. It's energy is healing and aids in creation. Symbol of greater sight and perception. The eagle is a messenger from heaven and the embodiment of the Sun's spirit. Also a symbol of the rediscovery of the inner child. The Power of the east/west wind. Aries through Gemini. Closer to the sky. Realm of spirit and synonymous with spiritual things. Remarkable vision. East illumination=spiritual vision or the ability to see into the essence or spirit of things. The Garuda was variously pictured as a man, a bird, a man riding a bird, or a combination of various avian characteristics. The Garuda asana is regarded as a 'vehicle' of Vishnu, bearing the spirit of god either within, or on his back.
The moon as friend and guide to our inner voices, illuminates our subconscious during quiet times. Much like meditation and Inward postures, she can mesmerize in order to show us our true intent and purpose.
Child, Look Within
An interpretation of the Child's Pose, calm within the womb. Experiencing the subtle movements of Mother and the energy around it. A feeling of freedom (no gravity) within the constraints of the uterine walls. Yin/Yang. A being of Light within the Internal/Darkened atmosphere... awaiting to be born.
The Awakened One Dawn Day and Dusk Buddha sits in awareness.
Silent and graceful in countenance. Senses abstracted from their objects as the oil is separated from the sesame seed, withdrawing their organs within himself as the turtle contracts his limbs under his hard shell. With his steady mind he cast all eternal sensations far off from himself, as a rich and brilliant gem, shedding a coating of dust, then scattered its rays to a distance. Without coming in contact with them, he compresses his sensations within himself, as a tree in the cold season compresses its sap within its bark. He confined his subdued mind in the cave of his heart. ...When his soul had gained clarity. ...it forsook all unsteadiness, like the calm ocean unagitated by any winds. Yoga Vasishtha Maharamayana
Pindasana in Halasana. Pinda meaning "lump" denotes the human body or the embryonic body in its coarsest manifestation. According to Siddha-Siddhanta-Paddhati. Existing but undeveloped. Something in its very early stages. Before birth or emergence. The Elm was said to be the source of the world's first woman. Her name was Embla. (Her male consort was produced from the Ash tree...with other mythological hints that the first couple in the primal garden were actually produced from the Tree of Life.) The entire cosmos is faithfully reflected in the body.
Faith to Move Forward, Yet Stand Still
Magical Body-you are mine. Create new energy and life for me. Magical Body, show me the colors of the rainbow that my strength, my endurance, my patience has manifested for me.
Squatting as if to give birth to a child, Malasana pulls us towards the earth in order to ground us. Keeping us stable and secure. Thus peaceful and still.
